Agfa HealthCare announced today that a wide range of systems from its comprehensive digital imaging portfolio will be showcased at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) annual meeting, February 7-11, 2012 in San Francisco, California. Agfa HealthCare's solutions provide the right fit for any orthopaedic practice looking to transition to digital, as well as for those looking to upgrade their existing digital imaging solutions.
Orthopaedic practices must utilize solutions that are cost and workflow efficient and produce advanced image quality. Agfa HealthCare's extensive experience in digital imaging has made the company ideally positioned to equip the orthopaedic specialty with reliable and efficient solutions and products. "We are committed to continually developing and providing advanced solutions for the orthopaedic market that enable more efficient workflow and enhance image quality," said Ray Russell, General Manager, Radiology Solutions Business, Agfa HealthCare US.
Under the theme of "Imaging Excellence, Clinical Confidence," the solutions being highlighted by Agfa HealthCare at AAOS 2012 include:
DX-G
Agfa HealthCare's DX-G is a computed radiography (CR) system that unites excellent image quality with the convenience of supporting both standard phosphor plates and needle-based detectors. The second generation version to be shown at this year's meeting features updated software and has been designed to lower service and maintenance requirements.
DX-D 100
Introduced at RSNA 2011, the brand new DX-D 100 with wireless detector provides great flexibility for orthopaedic practices in a mobile environment. It combines the benefit of full mobility with Agfa HealthCare's MUSICA2 image processing for high quality radiology exams. Thanks to its ergonomic design, the DX-D 100 is easily moved and operated by a single person, delivers fast previews for exam efficiency, and provides one of industry's leading image resolution for a broad range of general radiography studies.
CR 30-X
Best in KLAS Award category leader in 2011, the CR 30-X is a versatile tabletop CR solution that offers the same efficiency and excellent image quality that users would expect in a full-sized floor model. Being shown this year is Agfa HealthCare's second generation CR 30-X with a lighter, sleeker form and advanced service tools for improved remote access and easier serviceability. This compact and convenient solution with NX and MUSICA2 provides seamless integration to local Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) networks.
MUSICA2
Inherent to each of Agfa HealthCare's CR and DR solutions is MUSICA2 intelligent image processing technology, which automatically analyzes the characteristics of each image and optimizes processing parameters independent of user input and dose settings. In combination with needle-based detectors, MUSICA2 provides the potential to yield a high quality diagnostic image at a lower dose. Particularly valuable to orthopaedic imaging, is Agfa HealthCare's ability to render outstanding bone detail as well as soft tissue in a single image. MUSICA2 improves the overall visibility of all clinically relevant structures, making low-contrast and fine boney details more easily perceptible.
NX Workstation
The Agfa HealthCare NX Workstation has been recently updated to optimize and automate the digital workflow while helping staff manage patient dose with new graphics and quality control tools. It gives clinicians the ability to streamline workflow for DR and CR systems and includes a full complement of management tools to assure that staff and systems are operating as planned. The easy to use interface simplifies staff training and helps standardize department operations, while management tools allow for confident tracking and monitoring of performance.
Full Leg Full Spine
Agfa HealthCare's new mobile Full Leg Full Spine (FLFS) cassette holder allows for standing and prone/supine Full Leg, Full Spine imaging in a single exposure. The Reina Transformerâ„¢ is available in two or three cassette versions and is mobile, making it equipped to be used in multiple exam rooms and surgical suites. In 2012, Agfa HealthCare will launch new FLFS cassette holder options and DR FLFS* with automatic stitching.
DR Portfolio
Agfa HealthCare offers a highly competitive and comprehensive DR portfolio. In addition to those solutions being highlighted at the AAOS meeting, other DR systems available from Agfa HealthCare include:
DX-D 300
Its small size and floor-mounting make the DX-D 300 easy and cost-effective to install, even in a limited space. The fully robotic U-Arm format can handle a broad range of X-ray studies, including lateral exams and Full Leg Full Spine* (FLFS) with automatic stitching.
DX-D 400
The DX-D 400 offers a smooth upgrade path to digital* which can be used with film cassettes, CR and DR. Scalable configurations are possible, from an analog manual system, to a digital manual system*, up to a digital automatic system* with auto-positioning, auto-tracking and with tube head touch screen controls.
DX-D 500n
Agfa HealthCare's DX-D 500n with dual DR Panels will enable orthopaedic clinicians to handle a comprehensive range of X-ray exams, with improved workflow and higher efficiency.
DX-D 600
The high-productivity DX-D 600 offers a complete portfolio of fully motorized, semi-automatic* or manual configurations*. The fully automatic system offers the latest in state-of-the-art auto-positioning technology. The versatile, ceiling-suspended DX-D 600 is equipped with dual Cesium Iodide (CsI) DR detectors in the wall stand and table, with optional integrated CR as well.
1Note: Claims regarding the potential for lower dose do not apply to DX-D 600, DX-D 500n or DX-D 400 systems.
*Note: Work in Progress.
